Shot at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach in the winter. There is a saying; “only a surfer knows the feeling”. While this may or may not be true, there is a certain satisfaction one gets after a long day in the water. No matter how challenging, peaceful, scary, or exciting your time in the water was, it is always difficult to leave it all behind when the sun finally sets.

Paper or Metal Prints?
Buyers have two printing choices; photographic prints on museum quality paper or metal prints. Metal prints may be more expensive upfront, but you will receive a ready-to-hang product. A traditional paper print, framed and matted, has unmatched elegance. Paper prints cost less upfront, but after mounting and frame the print, the total cost can easily exceed the cost of a metal print, especially if you are using a quality frame shop (which I strongly recommend). You must also consider the amount of time it will take to get the the framed print back. Turn around times can be weeks or even months at the best frame shops. All that said, I still love traditional paper prints, especially when displaying a black and white image. There is really no wrong choice, but for impatient consumers (like me) metal prints are as close to instant gratification as you can get with artwork. They will arrive to your home or office ready to hang and enjoy.

Lastly, a nice feature of metal prints is that they take up less space. This becomes a material consideration with images greater than 30”x45'“, where the frame and matting greatly increases the overall dimensions (and weight). Metal prints are also great for prints that are hung in high traffic areas (commercial settings) or where the prints will be handled often and transported frequently. (Note: I can provide acrylic prints by request, but opted to offer metal and paper standard as these are the best representation of my work).

Mounting - Metal Prints are exhibit mounted on 2mm black Styrene. They are finished with a black metal inset frame and floats 3/4" off the wall when hung. Includes a wire hanger

Materials - Paper Prints are printed on Hahnemuhle Papers Photo Rag 308 (Styrene mounting can be added for $20 additional cost)

Shipping - is included when ordering paper prints. Metal prints will be shipped in a wooden box, and will incur a $25 to $50 shipping and handling charge depending on size. You can ship up to 3 prints in a single box.

Edges - All photos printed on paper will come with a 1/2 inch border. Metal print will have finished edges in natural aluminum or black depending on the photo.

Surfaces - Paper photos surfaces will be mid-gloss or matte depending on image. Metal prints will be mid to high gloss depending on image.

Custom printing is available for most images on the website
